Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
  • 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp of maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour and cocoa powder in a small saucepan and set aside.
  2. Stir together the milk and vanilla in a small mixing bowl and pour into the dry ingredients. Stir or whisk until the cocoa lumps are dissolved.
  3. Place the saucepan on the stove and cook over medium heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate sauce begins to thicken. When the mixture has reached a gravy-like consistency, stir in the maple syrup, remove from the heat and serve.

Notes

I would not recommend using things like almond meal or coconut flour.
