The Best Vegan Biscuits

This is the BEST Vegan Biscuit Recipe! These easy homemade biscuits are easy to make and free from any dairy or oil. You need a few simple ingredients, 1 bowl, and less than 30 minutes. Healthy, wholesome, and delicious!

½ cup of unsweetened almond milk 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar 4 cups of organic unbleached flour (you can also use whole wheat, white whole wheat, or whole wheat pastry flour) 2 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon. baking soda 1 ½ teaspoon. salt 2 cups of unsweetened applesauce

Vegan Buttermilk


Mix almond milk and vinegar together and set aside.

Dry Ingredients


Add all the dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whisk together until everything is well combined.

Cut In


Gently cut the applesauce into the flour mixture with a whisk or fork. You’re going for a crumbly mixture that has little lumpy bits.

Mix The Dough


Using a large spoon, slowly fold in the milk and apple cider mixture until the dough is sticky. Do not overmix!

Drop The Dough


Lightly flour a clean surface and drop the biscuit dough onto the floured surface.

Roll Out The Dough


Gently roll, pat, or press dough out to ½″ thickness.

Cut The Biscuits


Use a jar, small drinking glass, or biscuit cutter of desired size to cut biscuits.

Lay Out The Biscuits


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and layout biscuits until they are almost touching.



Bake for 10-11 minutes and remove from the oven when golden brown.


Use your favorite fruit spread, syrup, or enjoy as a side with soups and stews.
