Ingredients

  • 1 English cucumber, thinly sliced (or regular cucumbers work too)
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 8 cups cold water (that’s about four glasses of water for two people)
  • Optional: a handful of fresh herbs like mint leaves or basil for an extra bit of ooh la la

Instructions

Toss everything into a large pitcher, give it a stir, and chill. Let it infuse for at least 30 minutes for the best flavor, though overnight is a great way to take it up a notch.

  • Let it chill for at least 30 minutes—overnight is even better for that spa-water flavor!
  • Use a straw if you’re worried about lemon juice and your tooth enamel (ask me how I know).
  • No English cucumbers? Regular ones work just fine—don’t overthink it.
