Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Use plain almond milk or water if you prefer.
- 2 cups of frozen or fresh mixed berries (I used blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Place spinach and liquid in the blender first. Add all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Blend the spinach and the liquid first until there are no big chunks of spinach.
Add extra nutrients like chia seeds or ground flax.
For the best results, a high-powered blender like a Vitamix works best. If you are using a regular blender add the ingredients in stages and blend.
This is a great make-ahead recipe. Toss the smoothie ingredients into a Ziploc freezer bag and store them in the freezer until you’re ready to make. And, there’s no need for thawing. You just remove from the freezer, place the ingredients into a blender, and puree!
