Baked Cinnamon Apples are the ultimate Fall recipe and so easy to make. Made in one bowl with only 6 ingredients, this recipe makes for a perfectly healthy apple dessert, topping, or side dish you and your family will love all season long.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples
  • 5 large Honeycrisp apples
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 3 Tbsp arrowroot flour
  • 1/4 cup water

For Serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375˚F.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples and place them in a large bowl. (Try and keep the slices consistent and thin. It helps them to cook evenly.)
  3. Add in all the remaining ingredients and toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  4. Pour the apples into a 9×13 baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 40 minutes. Then, remove the foil, stir the apples, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes. The apples should be VERY fork tender and the sauce should be fairly thick and bubbly.
  5. Serve the cinnamon baked apples plain or with a dollop of Vegan Whipped Cream.

Notes

This is a great way to use up that apple surplus that’s on the brink of going bad.

Try adding dried cranberries and maple roasted pecans for extra flavor and texture.

Be sure to use crunchier and firmer apples for this recipe.

Use a good vegetable peeler and paring knife when working with apples.
