Easy Vegan Tartar Sauce

Easy vegan tartar sauce is a much healthier alternative to the traditional mayonnaise-based condiment. It’s creamy, tangy, and full of flavor. Just 4 ingredients are required! Oil-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 10 (tablespoons) 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy cashew mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish (I love Wickles!)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a small bowl and stir everything together.
  2. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  3. Serve with vegan fish sticks, onion rings, or use in place of your favorite condiment on sandwiches.
  4. Store any leftovers in the fridge in a jar or airtight container for up to 5 days.

Notes

This delicious vegan tartar sauce is even better once it’s had time to chill a bit. So, if you know you’re going to be needing it, whip up a batch a day or two ahead of time.

You can store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Unfortunately, it does not freeze well.
