How to make Everything Bagel Seasoning at home from scratch with just 5 ingredients. This seasoning is fast, easy, and adds flavor to your favorite dish.

A couple of years ago I found Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Seasoning and decided to try it. Oh, man! Where had this been my whole life?!? It's fair to say I was instantly hooked and have been ever since.

If you have yet to try this amazing concoction of savory spices you should. And, you don't have to worry about leaving the comfort of your home to find it. Because I'm going to show you how to make it yourself in your own kitchen from scratch.

This wonderful bagel spice blend is something you will want to always have on hand. It adds so much flavor, taste, and even extra crunch to your veggies, salad, and anything else you might enjoy.

I love sprinkling this bagel seasoning blend on my easy vegan pizza crust and adding a spoon full into the marinara sauce as well. My wife loves to add a little sprinkle to her air-popped popcorn.

Ingredients You Will Need

This recipe is so easy to make and requires only 5 ingredients and less than 3 minutes.

Here are all the ingredients you will need to make this everything spice:

  1. Black sesame seeds or white sesame seeds
  2. Poppy seeds
  3. Dried garlic (minced garlic, not powder)
  4. Dried onion (flakes, not powder)
  5. Coarse sea salt (optional)

If you don't have coarse sea salt you can use regular kosher salt. But, you will want to decrease the amount by half since it is so fine.

Everything Bagel Seasoning Instructions

Once you have all your ingredients mix them together in a small bowl. Then, store the spice mixture in an airtight jar in a dry place at room temperature. These mini mason jars are my favorites.

One batch will keep for a couple of months. However, I highly doubt it will last that long so I would suggest making it in bulk.

  • Baked Sweet Potatoes
  • Brown Rice And Lentils
  • Easy Vegan Cream Cheese
  • Avocado Toast
  • Hummus
  • Vegan French Onion Dip
  • Potato Chip & Tomato Sandwich
  • Oil-Free Oven Roasted Potatoes

The possibilities are endless and it's not just good on/in recipes. It's the perfect seasoning for broccoli, cauliflower, or any other plain vegetable you want to liven up.

Scale
  • 2 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp dried minced garlic (garlic flakes, not garlic powder)
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion (onion flakes, not onion powder)
  • 1 ½ tsp. coarse sea salt or 1 tsp. fine salt

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Store in a sealed container or one of these mini mason jars for several months.
