Vegan cookie dough straight from the bowl is the best! And, this delicious and healthy plant-based version uses only seven easy whole-foods ingredients. It’s the perfect “throw together fast” dessert. And, kids absolutely love it!
Let’s face it. We all stole a piece of mom’s homemade cookie dough at some point in our life. No, it wasn’t the smartest thing to do because of the raw eggs and flour. But, now you can do it safely and guilt-free.
The base of this vegan edible cookie dough is chickpeas and peanut butter. But, you could use any seed or nut butter of your choice. So, enjoy:)
How To Make Vegan Edible Cookie Dough
- Add all of the ingredients except for the chocolate chips to a food processor. Blend until everything is well combined, smooth, and creamy.
- Transfer the edible cookie dough to a mixing bowl and fold in the chocolate chips.
- Finally, divide the edible cookie dough between six serving dishes and enjoy. If it’s been a really bad day then just consider this vegan edible cookie dough for one. You deserve it.
The chocolate chips are completely optional, but just be sure to use vegan or non-dairy dark chocolate chips.
Is Edible Vegan Cookie Dough Safe To Eat
Yes! Because there are no eggs or raw flour in this recipe. However, you might get an upset tummy if you eat serving after serving. Which is always a risk. So, just use common sense, moderation, and control yo’ self.
How To Store
You can store this healthy edible cookie dough in an air tight container in the fridge for up to a week. And, it also freezes well. Simply wrap the cookie dough in plastic wrap, place it in an airtight container, and then store in the freezer up to 3 months!

Just made this in my new Ninja smoothie/nut butter/smoothie bowl maker thingy. It worked great, but the dough was a little to warm when I put the choc chips in, so they kind of melted, but it still tasted awesome!! And I prefer to not have crunchy cold choc chips in there anyway! Love this.

I have found chocolate to be great no matter what. 🙂

This is delicious! I will be eating mine with apples as a dip. I used 1/2 date syrup and 1/2 maple syrup. Date syrup has a molasses flavor reminiscent of the brown sugar in CC Cookies. Yum! I don’t normally add salt to food but I knew this was not going to taste quite right without it so in it went. Thanks for a fun way to get my beans!
Carol
Whoooooo, Shane! What a great Saturday night “snackie” for mom & dad, LOL!!! The cats get their snackies at bedtime, & now we have ours!!! So delicious! And better for us with the chickpeas instead of all the flour! Thanks!!!
Shane Martin
So glad you enjoyed it.

I don’t have a food processor. Do you think it would work in a high-speed blender?
Shane Martin
Hi, Mary! I’ve never tried but see no reason why it wouldn’t work.

OMG!!!!!!! Yummo!!! That is all. Thank you and goodnight!

okay, bear with me- at first, this was a total disappointment for me. especially because i live outside the US and the ingredients are either really expensive or not available here (like vanilla)… so at first, it tasted mostly like chocolate peanut butter chickpeas. fail. but i wasn’t willing to throw it away, since i used my precious vanilla (ha)… there was something missing that i couldn’t quite put my finger on… and THEN, i added some baking soda and baking powder (like you do to real cookie dough) and it was TRANSFORMED! that salty “something” that those ingredients give was just what it needed. unfortunately, then i ate the whole thing in 2 sittings. oops!
Shane Martin
Way to go, Karin! NEVER…GIVE…UP:)

Looks yummy. Is there a sub for the oats? I don’t eat them. Thanks.
Shane Martin
You can use equal amounts any flour of your choosing.

EZPZ recipe – and Yummy!
Dianna
Hi! Can you use dates in lieu of maple syrup? If so, how many do you figure?
I’m going to try this for my kids. Thank you,!
Shane Martin
Hi, Dianna. Yes, you can totally use dates. I would use 4-6 dates, make a date paste, and add it to the food processor with all the remaining ingredients. You could also just try tossing them into the food processor whole and blending them with the other ingredients.
Mike
AMAZING!!!
