It’s time to say goodbye to mystery packets and dairy-loaded dressings! This homemade vegan ranch seasoning mix is here to rescue your spice cabinet and your salads.

Yes, ranch dressing is basically a food group here in the South. We put it on everything: salads, pizza, fries, and more. But when you ditch dairy and processed junk, you might feel like your ranch-loving days are behind you.

Not so fast, friend.

Enter: my homemade Vegan Ranch Seasoning Mix. It's like the classic ranch packet, but plant-based, oil-free, and made from actual ingredients you can pronounce.

Plus, it smells incredible. I opened the jar, and my kids came into the kitchen like I had summoned them with a dinner bell.

And here's the best part? There’s no refrigeration, no mayo blobs exploding from a plastic bottle, and no regret. Just mix, shake, and store. It's a great way to always have ranch flavor at the ready without raiding your fridge.

This might be the easiest thing you do all week, besides reheating coffee for the third time. Let’s do it!

Ingredients you’ll need

Here's what goes into this glorious, tangy, herby powder:

  • nutritional yeast - adds that umami "cheesy" base we all love
  • garlic powder - for punch
  • onion powder - for depth
  • dried parsley - classic ranch herb
  • dried dill - the unmistakable zing
  • dried thyme - brings it all together
  • salt to taste - optional, but I say yes
  • pinch of cornstarch - keeps it from clumping like a sad spice jar in July

Optional upgrades: Add a dash of black pepper or a hint of paprika for an extra kick.

How to make vegan ranch seasoning mix

A big batch of ranchy goodness. No dairy, no fuss. Just shake, store, and sprinkle your way to flavor town.

  1. Add all ingredients to a mason jar and shake well to combine. Or whisk everything in a small bowl and store in an airtight container.
  2. Label it (because you will forget what it is six months from now).
  3. Optional: For a finer blend, pulse 1-2 times in a food processor, just don't overdo it.

That's it. Seriously. It's a big batch and will last you a while. Unless you're like me and start sprinkling it on…well, everything.

How do I use this vegan ranch seasoning mix?

Once you've got a jar of this flavor magic, the possibilities are endless:

  • Make ranch dressing: Mix one tablespoon of the seasoning with ⅓ cup vegan mayonnaise, 3-4 tablespoons non-dairy milk, and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir it up in a small bowl, and boom — instant ranch salad dressing.
  • Whip up ranch dip: Combine one tablespoon of seasoning with ½ cup vegan sour cream, one tablespoon non-dairy milk, and one tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Great for veggies, chips, or your finger when no one’s looking.
  • Sprinkle it on everything: Seriously! Use it like a spice blend. Potatoes, tofu, roasted chickpeas, popcorn, pasta, soup. If it's edible, it's ranch-able.

How to store vegan ranch seasoning mix

This is a dry mix, so it stores beautifully. Just make sure it's in an airtight container, a mason jar works great! Store it in a cool, dry place, such as your spice cabinet. It should last up to 6 months, but honestly, I've never had a batch last that long. (Because we eat it. Not because it goes bad.)

If it clumps slightly, gently shake or stir it before use. Remember: cornstarch is added to help keep it smooth, but humidity can be freaking relentless.

So whether you're a diehard ranch lover, a meal-prep wizard, or just trying to impress your taste buds, this homemade ranch seasoning mix is a game-changer. It's dairy-free, oil-free, endlessly versatile, and wildly easy.

And hey, if all else fails, just make the dip, grab some carrots, and call it dinner. No judgment here.
