Is There A Vegan French Onion Dip?
Yes, this one! And, the flavor is spot on. It’s also healthy too. How? Very simple. First, stay away from vegan store-bought brands. They’re usually very processed and contain loads of oil.
I used my Cashew Sour Cream. It’s rich, tangy, and super creamy. And, if you are worried about the fat content from the cashews simply use my Easy Vegan Tofu Sour Cream made with silken tofu.

Tips & FAQ’s
How To Store Leftovers?
Cover and place in the fridge and it’s good for up to 7 days. That’s why this dip is great for making a day or so in advance. It’s a simple and healthy snack to always have on hand for the kiddos as well.
Are there any substitutions I should try?
My vegan mayo or cashew cream cheese is great for this delicious dip. And, try adding some caramelized onions to the final product. Simple preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat, add some sliced onions, and cook until they’re done. Adding a little bit of vegetable broth will help the caramelization.
What is Vegetarian Worcestershire?
Most Worcestershire sauces contain anchovies and are not vegan. So, make sure you get a vegetarian brand. If you don’t have it you can sub low-sodium soy sauce, Tamari, or Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. You can also omit if you wish.
Can I Freeze Vegan French Onion Dip?
Probably. But, it’s highly unlikely you will have any leftovers. And, I don’t really know why you would freeze it because it’s so easy and fast to make.
How Do I Make It Low Fat?
Use my Easy Vegan Sour Cream made with silken tofu in place of the cashew sour cream.

My hubby is a Lipton Onion Dip fanatic and honestly a snob. He has NEVER liked a replacement for “real” sour cream anything. I made this dip for our recent camping trip and I doubled the recipe. He DEVOURED it. Next time, I quadruple it! A winner for sure!
Thank you Shane,

I wanted to tell you that one of our favorite recipes of yours is the Easiest Vegan Ranch Dressing (oil-free). One thing we’ve discovered is that if you don’t put the dill and parsley in it tastes so much like French Onion dip that we have served it for that purpose and it always gets rave reviews. No one can believe it’s not the full-fat dairy-filled dip! It’s such an easy recipe and once it’s been chilled it thickens up just like the dip I do love it as the intended Ranch Dressing but thought I’d share that as an option. Thanks for all the scrumptious recipes!
Thank you so much!
