The Best Vegan BBQ Sandwich is right here! It’s made with Butler Soy Curls & my Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce. Ready in 20 minutes, a great source of protein & fiber, and an awesome game day food.

We all know BBQ is necessary for a happy and meaningful life. But, what if you’re a vegan or just trying to eat more healthy? Well, it sure as hell doesn’t mean you have to go without a great BBQ sandwich. It also doesn’t mean wasting your time and money on crappy processed meat substitutes.

So, how do you reclaim an old favorite and make the Best Damn Vegan BBQ Sandwich? It’s soy curls. Plain and simple. Let’s GO!

What Are Soy Curls?

Soy curls are whole soybean that’s been boiled, shredded, and then dried. They're minimally processed from non-GMO soybeans without all the chemical pesticides and crap.

And, if this recipe looks a little familiar…you’re right. I decided to reuse a couple of recent recipes to create another recipe. We’re going use my Quick & Easy BBQ Soy Curls, with a slight alteration.

What’s the alteration? A very simple, but delicious, BBQ spice blend that you will toss the soy curls in when they’re done soaking.

And, let’s not forget my Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce. When all these delicious elements come together it creates one hell of a BBQ Sandwich!

I love my jackfruit Vegan Pulled Pork Sandwich. But, when I want a killer sandwich and something that’s fast, easy, and delicious, it’s Butler Soy Curls!

This recipe is so easy and comes together in less than 20 minutes! You probably have every ingredient lying around in your cabinet except for the soy curls.

But, that’s a problem easily remedied because Amazon essentially owns the world.

How To Make The Best Vegan BBQ Sandwich

The process is so EASY.

  1. Open a bag of Butler Soy Curls and soak in a bowl of water for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain soy curls and toss with BBQ spices.
  3. Dump soy curls in heated skillet.
  4. Add BBQ sauce.
  5. Simmer.
  6. DONE!

THE BEST VEGAN BBQ SANDWICH in just 20 minutes. I’d be surprised if it didn’t fool some poor carnivore into thinking they're eating meat. Trust me. This stuff is legit. A vegan dream food!

Best Vegan BBQ Sandwich

Trust me when I say you’re going to LOVE this sandwich. It’s…

  • Pure BBQ
  • Smoky
  • Savory
  • Filling
  • Hearty
  • Perfect for potlucks or the big game
  • Loaded with protein and fiber
  • Simple to make
  • & Freaking delicious!

Oh, and as a bonus. Each sandwich contains over 13 grams of protein. So, just in case some carnivore tries to give you a hard time about not eating meat. That argument just doesn’t fly.

So yummy. Topped it with your Easy Vegan Coleslaw and served at friend’s BBQ – it amazed our carnivore friends.

I absolutely love this sandwich. The second time I made it, I chopped the soy curls to make them look more like pulled pork. Was really worth the extra effort. Your BBQ sauce is amazing!!

Delicious! BBQ sandwich was one of the things I missed since no longer eating meat. Now, how about a recipe with these incredible soy curls but a sauce that is similar to a French Dip?? I’d love more soy curl recipes in general bc these things are such a great ingredient! Thank you!

Awesome BBQ taste and so quick. With some oven baked “fries” and your oil free cole slaw, I feel like I’m cheating, it tastes so good.

I made this recipe last night for dinner using your barbecue sauce recipe and it was delicious! Your spice combination for the curls was spot on. Both my son and non vegan husband loved it. I will be researching more of your recipes to use. Thank you for sharing your talents!

I came across this recipe while looking for a jackfruit sandwich recipe. After reading your post, I knew I needed to order soy curls and make this for my husband. We did a taste test with your sandwich recipe and then some premarinated bbq jackfruit. Your soy curls and bbq sauce were a winner without question! I am sold on soy curls now. And just finished the last of our curls on a leftover bbq sweet potato and black bean taco. Thank you for opening my eyes to something incredible.

Jennifer, thank you so much! I’m honored. If you have Jackfruit I also have a recipe for that as well and it has become quite popular. I’ve attached a link just in case:)

The secret of this burger is in homemade BBQ sauce . Without sauce it would be inedible.
