20 easy Vegan Party Foods perfect for game day. A winning combination of dips, appetizers, and finger foods that are guaranteed to please any crowd, vegan or not!
When I first went plant-based and begin looking for vegan party foods for my first Super Bowl, let’s just say it was an utter disappointment. Who in the hell eats chocolate balsamic glazed beets with wild shiitake mushrooms in some kind of fancy rhubarb and strawberry glaze during a football game?
It became pretty clear the vast majority of vegan food bloggers, according to the recipes they were sharing, had never been to a real Super Bowl party or even watched a football game. I’d be willing to be most of them didn’t know what a football looked like.
When it comes to preparing snacks and party platters for the year’s biggest sporting event it’s gotta be epic. Especially, if you are planning on inviting people over to watch the Super Bowl with you.
Remember, you’re already at a disadvantage. The vast majority of your friends most likely aren’t vegan. So, they’re probably pretty hesitant about coming over because they think your food will suck. And, if you tell them it’s healthy? Well, you’re done.
Have no fear. I’ve got your back and a pretty reliable resource on this issue. Why? A couple of reasons.
- I’m a former high-school and college football player. Yes, I was a pretty good athlete. I still live and breathe football. And, I’ve hosted my share of game day parties. And, over the course of my life, attended quite a few as well. So, I know the type of food people are expecting to see on the buffet for such an event.
- I was a Mississippi-meat-cheese-mayonnaise-eating-boy who is now a whole-foods, plant-based beast. Now, I cook for a living. And, I don’t eat or serve crappy food.
What do you get when you combine a blue-collar redneck southern boy who is now a passionate healthy vegan food blogger? ANSWER: Someone who knows how to serve up one amazing Super Bowl Sunday spread!
These 20 Vegan Party Foods are perfect for game day. They’re easy to prepare, oil-free, and healthy. But, I would suggest you not say anything about that until after the game.

Shane,
HELP! I made the Lentil Soup but find that the lentils are staying very firm. I have never cooked with lentils before so firm. Is that the way they are supposed to be. Cooking the soup on the stove for 30 minutes was not enough.
Thanks for clarifying this.
